How to Configure a Container to Depend on another Container

Containers can depend on other Containers, specifically, they can use redirections specified in another Container's clc file. In the following example, the Parent Container is able to apply an exact match redirection for the file c:\A.txt to c:\B.txt provided by the Child Container.

Parent Container

Child Container

The Child Container has a configuration file DependsOn.clc that provides the redirections used in the Parent Container.

Containers cannot depend upon the following configuration specified in the Child Container

  • Environment variables
  • File Type Associations
  • Programs
  • Registry
  • Short cuts
